Opal ring success
A thank you email from a buyer I thought you would appreciate seeing the final result of the opal that you sold to me online through Opal Auctions. I managed to create a beautiful Opal Ring that was initially designed by National Opal in Sydney but their stone broke. A fantastic Canadian jewelry designer Shelly Purdy, did an amazing job mounting the new opal you sold back in the same old ring. Your stone combined with Shelly’s talent let the stone shine to its maximum beauty. The pictures show the amazing play of color that photographs just can’t capture…
The sellers Silvia and Chris from OpalRush have been mining opals in Lightning Ridge as a family since 1975 and for several years before that they would regularly visit Lightning ridge and mine opals at the Cochran opal fields and were quite often working new opal mining leases.
Chris and Silvia have always concentrated on quality high grade black opals and sold off the commercial stones as rough or rubs.
They have high reputation in the opal industry a s a wholesaler supplier of high domed cabochon black opals which they mined themselves and concentrated on opal mining in areas that produced black opal nobbies.
As nobbies produced cabochon black opals compared to seam opal that generally is not as bright.
OpalRush has opals graded exactly in body tone chart and brightness charts.
We can recommend these opals as investment stones from OpalRush as quality is exceptional and getting harder to find such quality high grade opals.
These black opals are ideal as investment opals or to be set in gold jewelry to complement the opal.
As example a recent sale of another gem black opal which will look spectacular set in gold.
