We are a family company who love opal and have loved sharing its beauty with the world for over 35 years of combined experience in opal mining, jewellery manufacture and online sales.
This rough opal was mined on the 16 Mile Creek opal field of Coober Pedy Australia.
Video link: https://youtu.be/R4JqZSN6IsY
WEIGHT: 56 carats, 11.2 grams or 0 oz 7 dwt (troy) weighed dry.
These are medium yield pieces.
These stones should cut around 16-18 carats of rare Coober Pedy white boulder opal. This stable naturally formed angelstone backing with gem quality very stable opal is a very rare formation and not likely to be seen often, over about 35 years of mining I have only come across it a few times.
NOTE: The angel stone photo optics make the opal look yellow based, it is not yellow based but clear bright blue green crystal in person.
Use the ruler as your guide to size (INCHES)
We do not sell opal simulants of ANY sort. All of our opal is 100% guaranteed Natural Australian Opal.
The color variations in some photos are due to different light angles and distances. All of our auctions are photographed with macro settings under a halogen lamp.
Please check the dimensions carefully as the opal will not be as big in your hand as it looks on your monitor! Please check the description carefully before bidding and view your purchased rough opal wet in sunlight or in a dark room with a direct light source ie: desk lamp, down light etc. (As photographed and practiced throughout the opal industry).
