Condition: Natural. Has fractures (please see video).

Comments: This is a big chunk of water opal. That means it was mined in a wet environment and needs to remain wet. If dried out quickly this stone will craze and crack. If kept in a jar, snow globe or fish tank this stone will remain just as it is, forever. Some people slow dry these pieces over 6 months or stabilize them with resin but i don't recommend that. I cut & polish them and put them into glass snowglobe containers to sell at mineral shows. Water opals are not jewellery grade and are not stable enough to use for jewellery. But they are perfect for practicing cutting or creating beautiful displays on a shelf.
