After all of the cutting is done, there is always a bunch of material that isn’t appropriate for commercial gem cutting. It is sorted into material that has colour and material that doesn’t. This is a parcel of rough opal from all over Australia that has colour, but had too much sand, or was too thin, or crazed, or small to be cut commercially. This is great material for hobby cutters to practice on to get a feel for different types of Australian Opal, or to be chipped and used for other hobby purposes. Opal in this parcel is from Lightning Ridge, Koroit, Andamooka, Mintabie, and Coober Pedy. This is NOT a cutters parcel.
