ITEM SPECIFICS:

WEIGHT: 227 carats, 45.4 grams or 1 oz 10 dwt (troy) weighed dry.

These are medium yield pieces of hard matrix (not treatable), and laced with veins of precious opal.

The pieces we have worked from this claim so far have shown the matrix and solid precious opal from the South Pacific field of Coober Pedy are of high quality and can be cut in any manner while retaining incredibly hard and stable properties.

These stones should cut 40-60 carats of cabochons of colored matrix with precious opal veins.

The color variations in some photos are due to different light angles and distances. All of our auctions are photographed with macro settings under a halogen lamp. In all photo's the opal is immersed.

Please check the dimensions carefully as the opal will not be as big in your hand as it looks on your monitor! Please check the description carefully before bidding and view your purchased rough opal wet in sunlight or in a dark room with a direct light source ie: desk lamp, down light etc. (As photographed and practiced throughout the opal industry).
