Here is a lovely black opal that is huge and has great color and is at a great price. It weighs 3.71 troy ounces and measures 70 x 60 x 22mm.
The face has been cleaned up and polished because miners cant afford not to look inside such large pieces or they could trow away a hundred thousand dollars or more.
Rich greens and blues as you can see. You could leave it as it is or work it further. You could cut a few solids from it but that would be a crime.
It would look great as is in your collection or maybe clean up the edges and have a pendant like no other.
