Boulder opal is a vein of coloured opal with a natural ironstone host rock.
This Boulder Opal is rough faced, meaning that most of the hard work in cutting and grinding has been done to expose the vein of colour.
The opal will then need further shaping, sanding and polishing to be completed.
You will need access to lapidary equipment and some experience to finish the polishing of these stones.
